The Municipality of Badian is located 97.6 kilometers southwest of Cebu City. It got its name from a plant called badyang, whch was once abundant in the place. However, the Spanish found it difficult to pronounce so the "g"was dropped and the "y" was change to "i" and the place came to be known as Badian. This town is generally mountainous and hilly area where locals tourist go around with their mobile.
Another must see in Badian is the majestic and very known Kawasan Falls. Kawasan has not just one, but a series of beautiful waterfalls. It has children spring, first falls which is the highest falls of Kawasan, the second and the third falls. At the upper part was the Kabukalan Spring which is approximately a two-kilometer uphill walk toward the Matutinao River Canyon. Different kinds of flura & fauna the river canyon give visitors the feeling of slowly entering the forest.
